Hi again! I have really been enjoying all the pictures of you guys working on your art projects. I hope you are having fun with your creations and are excited to work on more art.

For today, we will be working on making Paper Beads. However, there are a few steps to this project and depending on how you would like to make your beads, it may take more than a day in order to let things dry.

Let's begin!

Materials:

- Paper (printer paper or magazine scraps will work)

- Glue (glue stick works the best)

- Toothpick (or any small cylinder)

Optional Materials:

- Watercolors

- Paintbrush

- Markers

- Water/Spray Bottle

1. To start, you will need to decide if you would like your beads to be the color of your paper/magazine or if you would like to change it. If you would like to change the color of the printer paper you can use a few different techniques.

- Watercolors: Use the wet on wet method to paint your paper. First begin by adding water to your paper with a paintbrush or spray bottle (be careful not to add too much water because the paper might rip). Next, add watercolor and gently apply the paint - let the water do the work for you with mixing and swirling to get gorgeous textures.

- Marker Melt: Another technique you could try would be the Marker Melt. First scribble on your paper with your markers (make sure they are the washable kind) and then spray with water or apply water with a paintbrush.

If you choose to add color to your paper you will need to let the paper dry before the next step.

2. Cut out the shape to the beads using the template above. Different shapes will result in different types of beads.

3. After you have cut out a few shapes, apply glue to the back of the paper. Carefully roll around a toothpick or another small cylinder shape.

4. Let dry and make more!

5. Once the beads are dry you can add them to a string to make a necklace or a bracelet or use for another craft.

6. Send me a picture of you awesome work!
